Just an ordinary night. Nothing crazy. Just some people singing like cats singing Les Mis.

This is a rather interesting Advertising Oddity, although I’m sure it comes from entirely too much money and too little oversight. I recently spotted a Madden ’13...

Of course the next logical step was to google just what this meant. I’d been hearing rumors of a new album/tour for months now, but nothing solid. Well, wouldn’t you know it, they just dropped a new song on us!

We’re looking to take this project out to the playa this year (Burning Man), and we need your help to make that happen. Check out the video below for a full description from the creators, and then navigate your way to the Kickstarter page to support the project. Anyone who’s been to the Burn can certainly appreciate a good compilation video, especially from your friends. And this lovely homage to 2012 was created by none other than my hoop daddy Stefan Spins of Groovehoops! As you might remember his video from last year, “Home” racked up quite a few views (over 500,000). While I missed the burn this year, it’s lovely to see all the wonderful people who make it so special, and pumps me up to get back out there next year!
Alright, I spend a lot of time online. I read Mashable, Gizmodo, etc. I feel like I’m relatively up to speed on the latest digital shit, viral videos, etc. But just yesterday, I finally came into contact with what must be the most viral video of the past two months: Gangnam Style. How the fuck did I manage to avoid this for nigh on 2 months? It’s awesome! And we know how much I like awesome stuff. Anyway, for anyone else out there who somehow hasn’t seen this, do so now! And place your bets now on which circus folk will be the first to make a video to this song and dance routine.
Clearly this does not count as gross Facebook ad misconduct, but it simply goes to show that even the largest brands have more money to spend on the ads than their agencies can keep up with (and clearly too few individuals working on them). A minor mishap, but an encouraging notion to other businesses and brands that no one really knows what they’re doing!
